Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles combined, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
