FC Barcelona Ready for First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
