Iran Reports Attack on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
