Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window

An aircraft ferrying the US defense secretary was required to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the jet's front window, per an announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.

"The jet touched down in accordance with established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a social media post.

Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to Brussels during the flight.

This incident does not mark the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has encountered technical problems.

Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was required to turn back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
