Real Madrid brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold on a long-term contract

Trent Alexander-Arnold's rehabilitation is moving forward according to plan, giving possibility that the Madrid defender might return in time to face his former team Liverpool in the upcoming European encounter.

The 27-year-old player suffered a muscle injury during a match against French side Marseille in the group stage of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the field in the early stages, with initial reports indicating a possible layoff of around a month and a half.

Real Madrid will travel to visit Liverpool on November 4 for the Champions League fixture—just seven weeks since the injury occurred.

Sources close to the situation suggest that the defender's healing process is moving along favorably, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold may achieve his initial appearance to Liverpool's stadium since signing for Los Blancos in the summer.

A devoted Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier said that departing from the team he joined as a six-year-old youth talent was the "hardest decision he's ever taken."

During his time with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold made 354 games, contributing to secure multiple English top-flight titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

After joining to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played on five occasions across all competitions, logging over two and a half hours of playing time.
