The Streaming Platform to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry title that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is known for delighting in violence and insanity with the same excitement, all while telling captivating, politically driven tales. Little surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry anthology series attracted two visionaries whose creations have exemplified all of those elements.

What to Expect

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game series, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' structure by featuring a different backdrop and ensemble in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we have no details on what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners always encourages me with their ongoing belief and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style series. Every instalment is a take of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a version on a story,” noted Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can shift from season to season, while always examining the essence of humanity through this complex and turbulent lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to work with Rob and introduce our shared irreverent, daring sensibility to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
