Two Individuals Accused In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
